Jesus is the gate into God's kingdom, but we're constantly tempted to climb in some other way — each of which is really just forms of self-sufficiency that rob Jesus of his glory and rob his people of his grace. The good news is we don't have to scale the wall: there's a gate right there, and his name is Jesus.

Repentance is not what happens when we realize how bad we are. Repentance is what happens when realize that God loves us anyway.

We are presented with an opportunity to return to God; to reorient our lives to that which is fulfilling.

The Path of Suffering
Let us commit ourselves again to discipleship, with all of its costs, and holy lives worthy of Jesus Christ, the one who chooses the path of suffering for us.
