Love One Another
Preacher: Zoie Sanchez
Scripture: John 13:31-35
On the night before his death, Jesus gave his disciples a parting command—not a strategy or a doctrine, but a way of life: “Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.”
It was spoken into a moment of heartbreak. Judas had just left the table. The cross was only hours away. Yet Jesus doesn’t call his followers to retreat or defend—he calls them to love. Not vaguely. Not politely. But with the same kind of love he showed: the kind that kneels to wash feet, forgives betrayal, and keeps showing up.
This commandment speaks across time, and it speaks to us especially in times of transition. Whether you’re graduating, moving, grieving, rebuilding, or just facing another Monday—you’re not called to have it all figured out. You’re called to love.
And not just any love. Christ’s love. Love that forgives, serves, stays, listens, includes, and reflects the heart of God. This is the love that builds the Church. This is the love that tells the world who we belong to.
When we wonder what we should do, how we should live, or who we’re becoming, this command remains our anchor: Love one another, just as I have loved you.
