This is Christ our King
Preacher: Tim Jenkins
Scripture: Ezekiel 34:11-16, 20-24; Matthew 25:31-46
Throughout history, kings have ruled with power, authority, and often distance from their people. But Christ our King is different. He does not sit on a distant throne, removed from our struggles. He dwells among us, shares in our suffering, and calls us not just subjects but heirs of his kingdom.
Ezekiel reminds us that our King is a Shepherd—one who seeks the lost, binds up the wounded, and leads his people with justice and care. In Matthew, Jesus tells us that our King is with the least, the hungry, the suffering, the imprisoned. When we serve them, we are serving him.
To proclaim Christ as King is to declare that no earthly power, no government, no personal ambition has ultimate rule over us—only Jesus does. And his reign is not built on domination but on sacrificial love.
May we live as people who not only call Christ King with our words but serve his kingdom with our lives, bringing his justice, mercy, and love into the world.
