A Summer of Service

Hello Friends,

As summer comes to a close, I find how quickly time has passed hard to believe! We are incredibly grateful for all the wonderful work we, as a church, have accomplished in our community.

  • We donated hundreds of diapers and wipes to Gateway of Grace.

  • We raised the walls of the Jimmy Carter Habitat house, put up siding, and painted the exterior during three build days, all thanks to over 20 volunteers from St. Andrew’s!

  • We prepared over 800 lunch sacks for The Samaritan Inn.

  • We made more than 600 sandwiches for The Samaritan Inn.

  • We repackaged countless feminine hygiene items, Tide Pods, and dog food for the McKinney Little Free Pantry.

  • We provided nutritious snacks for our C.L.I.M.B. kiddos each week.

  • We exceeded our goal for the Burks Backpack event! THANK YOU!

It has been a busy summer, and God is good! Thank you to the people of St. Andrew’s who have helped so many in so many ways. We are a church community that truly embodies the teachings we hold dear through our Hands&Feet ministry.

As stated in James 2:14-17 (NIV):

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Our Hands and Feet ministry will continue our work this fall. If you are able to lend a hand with C.L.I.M.B., join our Baggie Brigade, or help with our Thanksgiving Baskets for Burks, please reach out to me.

Peace,
Lisa
