A Goodbye Letter from Mtr. Erica
Dear Friends,
Goodbyes are a difficult but important part of transitions. As I do my best to follow God’s call, I am both excited and sad to be making this transition. I am profoundly grateful for my time at St. Andrew’s. Since arriving last summer, you have welcomed me and my family. You have supported and encouraged me through two ordinations. I have learned so much in my time here, and I remain grateful for your encouragement and grace throughout my journey into the diaconate and into the priesthood. This is a warm, faithful, and vibrant community.
Some of the memories of St. Andrew’s I will most cherish are moments of joy and laughter. I will remember the delight of children as they learn about Jesus through play, and I will treasure the memories of camaraderie and silly costumes at senior lunch. I’ve especially enjoyed my experiences of Bible study and learning in this place; I will leave inspired and full of energy to share the love for the Bible and love for one another that you have shared with me.
I hope that you will keep me in prayer as I begin my ministry at St. John the Apostle in Pottsboro at the end of August. I will pray for St. Andrew’s and look forward to hearing about what God is doing in this place in the months and years to come. Thank you for nurturing me in my ministry and in my faith.
In the Peace and Love of Christ,
Mother Erica
