Daughters of the King Info Session on Sunday

Dear Friends,

Every day, the prayer requests submitted on Sunday Connection Cards (specifically the ones with the DOK box checked) are lifted up to God with faithfulness and confidentiality. Behind this invisible cloud of prayer stands the Order of the Daughters of the King. While these women are often quiet in their work, their impact on the spiritual health of St. Andrew’s is vital.

To the women of our parish: The Daughters warmly invite you to an informational meeting regarding the membership and life Order this coming Sunday at 10:15 am in the Great Hall. Our Chapter President, Diane Victor, describes the Order not just as a powerful "international sisterhood." In becoming a Daughter, one enters into a bond with women across the globe who have dedicated their lives to “Prayer, Service, and Evangelism.” As she put it, it is a true "honor to serve you and to serve our Lord" through this specific vow.

This meeting is simply a time for inquiry – a chance to ask questions and hear from Daughters about how this sisterhood changes their life. For those who feel God might be calling them to explore further, a flexible period of study and discernment will follow on Sundays after church.

To the men and families of the church: While membership is specific to women, the gift of this Order belongs to us all. If there is a woman in your life you think might be called to be a Daughter, encourage them to attend this session. Sometimes a gentle nudge from a family member or friend is the spark the Holy Spirit uses.

In Christ,
Fr. Andrew
