Help Us Feed 40 Burks Elementary Families

Hi Friends,

As we prepare for Thanksgiving, we’re accepting donations to provide holiday meals for 40 families at our partner school, Burks Elementary. These meals will help families enjoy the holiday and ease some of the pressure they’re facing as food and housing costs continue to rise.

The need in our community is significant. At Burks Elementary, 75% of students qualify for free lunch, and 10 families are currently experiencing homelessness. Our neighbors need our support.

At St. Andrew’s, God has given us the faith, compassion, and commitment to serve our community. This work is central to our mission, and we dedicate significant resources to it. We strive to live out Jesus’ words in Matthew 25:35–36:

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

Throughout the holiday season, we’ll continue serving children and adults in our congregation, at our partner schools, and across the wider community. We’ll provide food, help people remain housed, support access to utilities, and more.

Please join us in whatever way you can. Donations, volunteering, and mentoring are all deeply appreciated.

As always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. My door is always open!

Peace,
Lisa
