Planted, Provided, Almost There

Dear Friends,

Amid all the wonderful St. Andrew’s events and news over the last several weeks, the story of our Planted in Promise campaign has gone a little under the radar. Remember that? Our annual stewardship campaign with the tree in the narthex and everything?

That tree is now planted on our property, and the campaign is reaching its last stages (we always allow for several weeks after the “last Sunday” for people to respond before the Vestry makes their follow-up calls).

The really great news is that we already are within 1% of our $800,000 goal, which puts us in reach of exceeding that goal by enough that we could pass a balanced budget for 2026! It would be a stretch — we’d need another $60-$70k, but what a wonderful achievement that would be after five years of deficit budgets depending on reserve funds.

If you haven’t communicated your intention of giving yet, would you please consider doing so this week, either by turning in a physical card on Sunday morning (they are on the tables in the narthex), or by filling out an online intention of giving card. Thank you!

Yes, we are going to have a capital campaign in the new year to expand our campus and continue to grow in the ministry God calls us to in this place. The expansion project spearheaded by the Vision 20 committee is enormously exciting. But we can only do that because we fully fund the ministry that we do every season, every week, and every day.

Just today, in fact, a woman and her toddler came through our doors. She only asked for diapers, but she had nothing. She left with diapers, in the right size, that Fr. Logan took out to her car. Carolyn helped her find some meals that would work for her little family from our freezer. She got some dry goods from our donations and from the Little Free Pantry. She drove out of here able to feed and clothe her baby girl.

You’d never see that unless you were here. And most weeks I’d never write about it; it’s just the church being the church. But the generosity of this congregation — from the donated food and the money you pledge — matters to people in ways you don’t even know. Thank you for being such a generous community. The Lord God does great things through you who have been Planted in Promise.

In Christ,
Fr. Andrew
