Waymakers? Journey in Faith? What are these things?
Dear Friends,
This coming Sunday is always one of my favorites. Not because of the gospel for the day (this is actually a very tricky one to preach on 🤔). No, this is one of my favorite Sundays because our Sunday morning discipleship starts up for the fall.
If you’ll stay 30 minutes after the 9 am service is over, or come 30 minutes before you usually would to go to the 11 am service, we have something for you on Sunday at 10:15 am:
Waymakers - This is a new group for adults in the messy middle of life — that time roughly defined by signing your first apartment lease and sending your last child off to college; that period when you’re trying to figure out your career, carpool lines absorb your life, you have status at Chick-fil-a, or your parents begin having extended hospital stays.
If you’re not sure if that’s you (particularly if you’re on the edges of the demographic), come check it out. This first week is a get-to-know-you brunch and a chance to explain how it will work.
Journey in Faith (JIF) - Open to all adults, JIF is a chance to connect Sunday to your daily life in the week to come. Small group discussion will prompt tying the liturgy, sermon, and your own personal journey together. Groups will be kept small, but everyone will meet in Room 114 to start.
We also have classes for little kids, big kids, and youth too — so there’s a place for the whole family to go (I'm just guessing they're not the ones reading this email).
Most importantly, these groups are a chance to build relationships that will help lead you to Jesus Christ. We can’t do this life thing — especially this Christian life thing — without one another. And in God’s wisdom and providence, when we build connections with one another, we also find ourselves drawn closer to God.
See you Sunday!
In Christ,
Fr. Andrew
