14 Years, 2 Schools, and a Friendship That Goes the Distance
Hi Friends,
One of our cherished Hands&Feet ministries is the Belize mission trip. Our church has formed a partnership with Mother Barbara, a Canon who oversees a parish of 4 churches and 2 schools for the past 14 years. This collaboration has resulted in children receiving computers and school supplies, buildings being painted, and love being poured into mini VBS camps—all fostering genuine friendships. Mother Barbara knows she can rely on the members of St. Andrew’s in times of need and joy for the long haul!
Most recently, we established a scholarship program to help the children of Dangriga complete high school. This ministry exemplifies the true essence of what we value at St. Andrew’s: building relationships that lead to Christ. The mission trips, which occur approximately every two years, are transformative experiences; I’ve participated in two! The love and joy you invest in all the projects and lessons during the trip are returned threefold by the children and staff at Christ the King School. The church communities we serve alongside through painting and building fill us with immense joy and appreciation—words cannot express the feelings we carry home!
As we continue our partnership this year and prepare for another mission trip in November, we will hold our Annual Belize Dinner and Auction on August 21! Proceeds from this auction will support the ministries of Christ the King Parish and the schools in Dangriga Town, Belize.
If you’re considering ways to participate, we’ve discovered that some of the most popular and impactful auction donations are experiences and services. Examples include vacation stays, dinners, lessons, event tickets, guided outings, and professional services. These unique offerings consistently inspire enthusiastic bidding while creating memorable experiences for all involved.
We will share more information about donation opportunities in the coming weeks. If you have any questions, please reach out to Scott or Julie Anderson.
Thank you for your continued support of this vital ministry!
Peace,
Lisa
