Four Pictures From this Week

Dear Friends,

If I had to pick just one picture to signify this week, the very last week of the Stretching Out Our Arms of Love campaign, I’d probably pick one of these four, but I’m not sure which one 🤔

…so I’ll just give you all four:

Eva’s glorious quinceañera last weekend

Lisa talking with Mayor Bill Cox about C.L.I.M.B., our after-school program

The wonderful reception hosted by the Daughters of the King for Peg Fickle after Ron’s funeral

The lively "Meet St. Andrew's" dinner in Michie Hall just last night

None of those may seem like a capital campaign picture – but young people growing into the adulthood of faith, serving and loving our neighbors in Christ’s name, commending the dead to almighty God while comforting the grieving, and welcoming and encouraging new people into the parish – that’s the stuff for which we build church buildings at all.

Sure, this week has also included HVAC planning meetings and city tree ordinances, and I am very excited about Announcement Sunday, where we’ll share the grand total of all the commitments to the campaign. This stuff is good and important, and there has been a lot to say and do about all that these last months.

But throughout the campaign, St. Andrew’s has continued to be St. Andrew’s – building relationships that lead to Christ, loving one another, and caring for our community. That’s been the work of this week, the work God has given us to do, the work for which we stretch out our arms of love.

Can’t wait to celebrate with you Sunday,
Fr. Andrew
