Hello from VBS!
Dear Friends,
I don’t know how your week is going, but I’ve been starting every day by donning a neon snowsuit emblazoned with the visage of a wolf and dancing (poorly).
It’s Vacation Bible School week up here at St. Andrew’s, and we’re having a great time (even if the costumes are far from seasonally appropriate).
It’s been a wonderful week of teaching kids that “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” — our theme for the week, from Philippians 4:13, and also the chorus to the song our VBS kids will be singing at the 9 am service on Sunday.
I am so grateful for our volunteers — adults and youth — and our staff who work so hard to make this a special week for the kids. VBS is a great chance to learn Bible truths and encounter Jesus. It is also a great chance to play together, to be silly, and for the children in our church to know that they are loved enough by God and by the church that there is all this effort, energy, excitement poured into a week of Vacation Bible School for them.
In the cracks of time left after VBS, work continues in all the other parts of our life together, including our building and capital campaign. This Sunday we are thrilled to be announcing the First Fruits Offering total in worship — basically the amount of money we have already received towards the capital campaign — it’ll be exciting!
Have a great rest of the week, and then, let’s have a great Sunday worshipping the Lord together!
In Christ,
Andrew+
