Choose the Lower Place

We spend so much of life trying to prove ourselves—earning respect, guarding reputation, reaching for recognition. But in the kingdom of God, the seating chart is reversed.

Jesus doesn’t teach humility as a strategy for social success. He embodies it as the very heart of God’s love. He kneels. He serves. He takes the lower seat—and invites us to join him there.

Humility, then, is not weakness. It is freedom. It frees us from comparison. From performance. From needing to be seen in order to be loved. In Christ, you are already seen. Already loved. Already invited.

So take the lower seat. Not because you must earn your place, but because you already have one. Right beside the one who gave up every high seat to welcome you in.
