The Aluminum Pan Gospel
Preacher: The Rev. Andrew Van Kirk
Scripture: Deuteronomy 8:6-11; John 6:22-27, 33-35
Series: fAIth
We live in a world constantly promising us salvation from the wrong problem. We’re told we need more time, more stuff, more control. But Jesus doesn’t offer a fix for scarcity—he offers something deeper. He saves us from sin itself: from the brokenness within us that no technology, progress, or abundance can heal. The good news of the gospel is not that we’ll always have enough, but that we are loved even when we fall short. That love is what truly sets us free.
Reflection Questions

Where have I put my hope in something that promises to fix the symptoms instead of the cause?
What difference does it make to believe that sin is the root problem—and that Jesus can actually save us from it?
How do I respond to the truth that I am a sinner and yet still deeply loved by God?
Where is God inviting me to rely more on grace than on my own solutions?
